This solved my problem. I thought I had lost family pictures and important files. How can I solve this problem? Now I've tried plugging it into the USB port in the rear of the machine BELOW where the external hard drive is plugged in.
If it had listed it as the conflicting drive letter I would have realised the problem. I installed a Seagate 250GB external hard drive. going on 15 hours and I'm tired....just about giving up... Problem is the option to change drive letter is greyed out. Using Disk Manager the only option available to assign a drive letter seems to be to partition the drive, but I would assume that this would destroy the data.
