Thanks again for your help! We also write a log and run the command-line variant of vlc, cvlc, as daemon here. Chemist Maemo Community e.V. - Call for Donations - Coding Competition Hello Unregistered,
A long-awaited Coding Competition is just around the corner. If I can find another DVC100 cheap enough I may try that again.

I powered all the way off (actually required the power switch is the system didn't shut down all the way). Vlc Transcode A quick test with: --sout-asf-title "Currently playing: $t" just ended up asĀ  "Currently playing: $t" in the player's metadata display. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface. I'll let you know what happens.

I the past I made bad experience with CPU load on a low performing CPU (NSLU2, CPU 266 MHz) with picture modification (date/time stamp overlay in a JPG picture). Any additional help would be appreciated. It appears that error causes it not to create an output stream. The videolan Wiki has examples and details about "streaming for the iphone".

Is it possible to add dynamic metadata, that changes when playing titles change? Could you help me out, please? One note: if you are running vlc with the rc interface in --daemon mode, you need to add the --rc-fake-tty flag, see this thread. It does still let me just open the the capture device and play to the screen, it's still the capture to disk that isn't working yet (I know it's just me By doing so you are able to stream multiple streams with just one instance of vlc.

Another suggestion from the forums, the variable $N also didn't work.
