However, your suggestion about switching to a static IP then back to DHCP gave me the idea of trying to do an ipconfig /release and /renew and that fixed my issue. I have reset the router, no luck. I shared one partition and suddenly the server could see it and succeeded with the remote installs. Power cycle your Netgear router so that it will refresh DNS Cache.Boot up each PC and open the elevated command prompt and type: ipconfig /flushdns hit

I have 3 wifi laptops all able to connect to the internet. 1 laptop is windows 8 the other two are windows 7 When i open up my network and sharing PC1 cant see PC2, but PC2 can see PC1. I was going crazy trying to figure out why none of the remote computers would print...I followed the steps you outlined and we're back up and running! For example, if I try to copy in Windows Explorer to My Documents...
Thanks in advance for your help. Interestingly, I now dual-boot the XP desktop with Windows 7 RC, thinking that would resolve my issue with Vista printing to that machine.
