If you don't, you need to configure static IP addresses in the same subnet as the default gateway you're talking about. Maybe I asked the issue on a new question. Ive turned off the various offloading functions described in the other articles, and tried assigning other IP addresses in the same subnet, but nothing helps. About about 5 minutes after I powered off that VM, I was able to ping my ESXi host again and subsequently able to PuTTY in as I needed to run the currently all VMs mentioned are using VMNET3.Any comments regarding what I said earlier about arp table problems and the onboard Intel NIC issues I read about from Google searches? what kind ?
